Sam has always worked in the charity sector. Most recently, he has spent more than a decade working with young people – mostly running homes for care leavers, but more recently focusing on staff training and development.
He has studied Psychotherapy and Social Pedagogy (the way a society thinks about their children, how they care for them, how they educate them and how they bring them up). And says this has really helped him develop a strength-based, person-led approach to the way he works.
My work with young people helped me understand that conflict and harm tend to be born out of the circumstances people find themselves, so resolution tends to come from helping people move towards a place of understanding. That’s why Resolve West is an organisation I wanted to be a part of.
