As a registered charity one of the CMC’s (Civil Mediation Council’s) primary purposes is to provide the public with a trusted directory of mediation providers across various areas including community, workplace, civil and commercial, education and more covering the whole of England and Wales.
Following an extensive consultation, a standard was created that reflects the unique nature of this sector and which acknowledges the diversity of talent and experience of mediators in the community sector which went live in June 2024.
In July 2024 we were therefore delighted to become a recognised Community Mediation Provider with the CMC as having achieved this standard which has, amongst a number of benefits, provided us with a quality mark to reassure funders and make clear the significant steps that Resolve West as a community mediation provider takes to look after vulnerable clients.
This important standard and examination of the service that we provide evidences that we have demonstrated that our volunteers meet professional standards including training, CPD, mentoring and supervision; that we follow recognised codes of conduct, that we have a robust policies and processes in place including complaints; feedback, safeguarding and risk assessments.
We are delighted that the CMC has picked up this important standard for community mediation providers and that we have been successful in achieving this national standard.
