After joining Resolve West as a volunteer in 2014, Jacqui became a Caseworker in 2015. Before that, she had spent more than 12 years working as a trained counsellor – mainly working with people addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling and sex.
Passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, Jacqui has also been a volunteer counsellor for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, where she worked with people who had recently lost their sight.
Both in my role as caseworker and practitioner, I love seeing the benefit of bringing people together, despite their different backgrounds and lifestyles, so they can gain a better understanding of each other and themselves. It’s incredible just seeing the difference we can make to their day-to-day living situations.
